  2. SYMPTOMS. There are no early signs. Later signs may include headache,
  3. insomnia, weakness, dizziness and palpitations. If hypertension is left
  4. uncontrolled for a long period it may lead to chest pain, heart attack, eye
  5. changes, heart enlargement, stroke and kidney problems.
  6. CAUSES. It can be a deadly disease but it is readily detectable by routine
  7. examinations and blood pressure readings. Narrowing of the kidney artery or
  8. aorta, or a benign gland tumor may be an underlying cause.
  9. TREATMENT. Decreased use of salt in foods will help as will weight reduction
  10. .Surgery may be required for underlying causes.
